E.I.S. Year Four Pupils Shine In Extra-Curricular Athletic Events

Year 4 pupils highly endorse the adage, "Mens sana in corpore sano." On Saturday, 12th February, two athletic competitions were held. One was a Swimming Competition and the other one was a National Capoeira Competition.

Mrs. Nneoma Mbaka, Year 4 Class Teacher, expressed her joy upon hearing the results:

I believe in my students and I don't hesitate to tell them they are champions. My joy knew no bounds when Alice Mathieu and Sephora Aboudou made us proud in the Compétition de Natation Les Futurs Champions held at the Jardin Botanique, Université d'Abomey-Calavi. Alice won the first place cup and a gold medal while Sephora won a silver medal.

On the same day, the Association Capoeira Benin, through Mestre Mamoudou Fassassi, organised the Compétition Nationale de Capoeira. Rhianna Ahovey won first prize in her category and Janelle took the third place honour. I am so proud of them all. Their reactions and words are as follows:

I am happy because I won a gold medal and a trophy. Next time I will put in even more effort. - Alice

I felt very happy because I swam faster and beat my usual time. I am thankful to my parents who registered me in the competition. - Sephora

When I received the medal for the first position, I felt very happy and proud of myself. - Rhianna

I am very happy. Next time, I will win again. - Janelle
