Farm field trip for Reception and Year 1

Reception and Year 1 at the farm

Reception and Year 1 ended the Term 2 topic (How to Build a Healthy Body) with an exciting field trip. The parents of our classmate, Tonia Houssou-Lecluze, were kind enough to show us around their family farm.

Picking onions Oranges

We got to dig up organic onions from the ground and pick peppers and basil leaves. We admired the growing plants, such as lettuce, eggplant, zucchini, coffee, cocoa, papaya and banana trees.

Looking for ... Tonia picked a carrot

We ended our experience at the farm with a healthy freshly made salad. This field trip was the perfect transition to our Term 3 topic (All About Animals).

Healthy salad Tania and Tanais holding a baby rabbit

It was amazing to get to see ostriches (and an ostrich egg) so close up, to feed hens and guinea fowl, and to pet baby rabbits! A big thanks to all those who made this trip possible!
