1st Prize!
Students of Years 10 and 11 were honoured with a 1st Prize win for their collective poem which was entered in the Chinese Cultural Centre’s French Language Composition Competition, as part of the Happy Chinese New Year 2014 celebration.
All pieces of writing entered in the competition were to be written on the theme, “Fêtons Nos Rêves Communs” (‘Let Us Celebrate Our Common Dreams’). Julien Arthur Carsky, Year 11, was chosen to represent the French class, and gave an eloquent reading of the poem at the prize giving ceremony.
The Chinese Cultural Centre’s presenter made special mention of the fact that the 1st Prize was awarded to an English International School. The Years 10 and 11 students expressed their gratitude to their French teachers for their encouragement and insistence on high standards in the language.
