Limerick Writing Contest on St. Patrick’s Day – 17 March 2016

Middle School students know that limericks are humorous, rhythmic and fun. A sampling from the contest winners follows:

Cyrian Kedowide, Year 8

There once was a runner named Dwight

Who could speed even faster than light

He set out one day

In a relative way

And returned on the previous night.

Alieu Jarjusey, Year 6

There once was a man named Dave

He never did like to shave

He got in a fight

But didn’t look bright

And ran to the nearest cave.

Jerusha Issac, Year 8

A mute girl once went on safari

And then she fell off the Ferrari

She could not scream for help

So gave a silent yelp

And all that was left was her sari.

Yalan You, Year 7

There was an old man who fell

He cracked his head on a bell

He tripped on a stone

Then broke a bone

And lived to tell his tale.
