School Fair 2017
My School Fair
The weather was good. The setting sun cast rays of bright colours on the western part of Cotonou as The English International School went into full swing with singing, dance, capoeira and games in celebration of their annual School Fair.
The food and jewellery stalls were agog with people ordering food and buying beads and baubles. Children played games and chatted with their friends and parents.
Teachers moved from stall to stall, post to post to supervise the events. They were determined to make the day a memorable one, not just for their students, but for the parents and invitees of the school.
The climax of the fair was when the dance shows began. Unity in diversity, for which the school is known, could clearly be seen. It was awesome to watch the dancers perform dances from various countries of the world. The audience was elated as they basked in the euphoria of these performances, tapping their feet on the ground and nodding their heads in unison with the rhythm of the songs. Parents and guests were amazed to see such talent.
It was a wonderful experience for me as it was my first time to take part in the school fair of The English International School. We all had so much fun. I can but say that East or West, English International School is the best place to be!
