The Venezuelan Embassy’s Art Competition

The EIS classes 6, 7, 8 and 9 were honoured last term with an invitation from the Venezuelan Ambassador, His Excellence Alejandro Israel Correa Ortega, to participate in the recognition and celebration of the contribution of the Afro-Venezuelan and Aborigine People to the development of the Venezuelan nation.

As a result, our students competed in an art contest by drawing pictures of the famous Afro-Venezuelan heroines and heroes such a Matea Bolivar, Leonardo Infante, Ines Maria Paez, Miguel ‘Guacamaya’ Geronimo and Jose Ascension Farreras.

All students received certificates of participation.

Several diplomats as well as parents were invited to enjoy lectures, film documentaries and their children’s art work.

First and second place prizes were awarded to Alexander Correa Jimenez and Neyna Orji.

Each of our middle school students composed excellent illustrations, but the first and second place prizes were awarded to Alexander Correa Jimenez and Neyna Orji, respectively.
