Year Five visit to the Chinese Cultural Centre
Vivaan Tekwani, Year 5
On November 27, 2024, Year 5 went on a field trip to the Chinese Cultural Center. We travelled in a minibus with Mrs. Magdalene and Mrs. Laetitia. When we arrived, the bus driver parked, and we entered the centre. Mrs. Sesi led us to the library, where we saw some books. She then showed us a map of China and a musical instrument before we started writing in our Global Perspectives books. We discovered many books about China, some in Chinese, French, and English. We began writing in Chinese, finding some sentences challenging to write. Mrs. Sesi took photos of us as we wrote in Chinese. After an hour, she gave us gifts like pencils and bookmarks. When I finished writing, I grabbed another book, this time in English. I noticed some Chinese words and copied them down. At 12:00, we returned to school.
Anna Catherina Semaan, Year 5
On November 27, 2024, my classmates and I visited the Chinese Cultural Center to learn about different countries. We travelled in our school minibus, playing fun games until we arrived. Accompanied by our teachers, Mrs. Laetitia and Mrs. Magdalene, we met a woman who spoke to us about the Great Wall of China. We also had the opportunity to play an ancient Chinese instrument, and I even tried to play a song on it. After that, we visited the library, where we copied information about China. While copying, one of the ladies gave me a bookmark, and others received pencils. I thoroughly enjoyed the field trip and hope we can go on another one soon.
