Dear Parents,

Two popular festivals are coming up: Diwali and Halloween, both on 31st October this year. Teachers are talking about the ways in which the festivals are celebrated and have planned various activities in their classes to acknowledge both on the last afternoon before our half-term break. We wish happy celebrations to all.

Half-Term Holiday

Our half-term break will begin on Friday, 25th October. We will return to school on Tuesday, 5th November.

Water Bottles

It is important that children come to school with sturdy, reusable water bottles filled with an adequate amount of water to quench their thirst during most of the school day. Water dispensers in and outside of classrooms may be used for re-fills if children have drunk their initial supply of water. Teachers have noticed that some children come into school with empty water bottles and wish to fill them at the start of the day. We appreciate your cooperation in reiterating the purpose of the water dispensers at school, and in encouraging organising what is needed for each school day.

Institut Français

The Institut Français programme of October includes interesting exhibitions, concerts, films, literary encounters, workshops and more. There are opportunities for all ages to become immersed in francophone and Beninese culture and improve French language skills. E.I.S. French teachers have discussed the benefit of Institut membership in classes. More information can be obtained from the Institut Français website or by going there in person.
